Hope

13 year old me using every excuse possible to get out of going to activities that a young women's leader always texted me about:
          
          "I'm out of town." I was not.
          
          "Sorry I have to watch my younger siblings" I did not.
          
          "Oh I already made plans with a friend" Nope.
          
          "I have strep throat" Definitely did not.
          
          "I have to go to the dentist" That one was actually true.
          
          "I have a doctor's appointment" Lie.
          
          "I have to go to therapy" As if my mother would let me go to therapy. Girl bffr 
          
          "It's my cousins birthday party tonight" 
          
          
          Of course I could have just told her to stop texting me but my father beat some manners into me.
          
          Also she got my phone number by ambushing my little brother while he was on a walk with his friend.

My sisters report card goes a little like this
          
          Geography: C-
          Physical Education: D
          Medical Terminology: C+
          Musical Theatre: D+
          Medical Forensics: C+
          Science: C+
          Phlebotomy: C
          Math: A+
          
          Can you guess which one she tells people about?
          
          Girl did every extra credit assignment for math and got like 100 on everything for that class and she just pretends the rest don't exist because she's proud of that one.
          
          Don't get me wrong I'm proud of her too, but I can't help but be a little concerned about her grade on her final test in Phlebotomy.
          
          It was drawing blood from an actual person and she got a D- on that test. I have to know...is that person okay???

During Exams, my sister allowed herself 10 minutes of sleep every four hours for 8 days straight, and somehow stayed awake reading all her textbooks front to back and taking notes like that
          
          That was two weeks ago and she's still catching up on her sleep rn

Okay fuck Med school. I'm not coming back next semester. Ima go for business.

Tell me why I always like things when I'm in a dressing room, but when I get home I'm like "ewww"
          
          Like at the store it's all "Omg I look cute"
          
          Then I get home and it's "Omg I look like a cube"

I have very mixed feelings about religion, Mormons especially. I think people have every right to have their own beliefs and follow them, and I think that's great for them, right up until they're blindly following church leaders.
          
          When I was 13, a bishop and his son at a church in my neighborhood molested a bunch of boys at the church. The son went to Juvie for less than a year, and somehow the dad got off without any kind of punishment (idk the details)
          
          And almost all of the church forgave him because he was a bishop, and obviously satan was working extra hard to turn him towards evil. The worst part was that more than one of the boys parents forgave him too.
          
          And honestly I'll never forget how fucked up it was for them to forgive that just because "satan was working extra hard on them"
          
          I don't hate the entirety of the church because of it (I mean I think it's kind of cult-y but that's a conversation for another time) but I am baffled wondering wtf went through these peoples heads

So...I was texting my gc with my sisters and foster sisters (the ones over the age of 14) where we all gossip about shit and my foster sister Bailey is talking about our mutual friend breaking up with his bf and then hooking up with his ex less than 24 hours and my sister goes
