I was born in March of 1967 in the city of Columbus GA. There we lived until my fifth birthday, at which time we moved to Smiths Station Alabama. The move was because my father had gotten a job at a tire manufacturer in a town just outside of Auburn AL, and needed to be closer to work.

I have spent from then until now in and around the Smiths Station area and intend to see the end of my life here. Throughout that time I've watched the town grow to be a city, the country atmosphere change into a more modern climate. I lived through many adventures throughout that time, and have had a wonderful life.

As a youngster I always loved to sit on my grandfathers porch, overlooking the Chattahoochee river and listen to the old timers tell stories from their past adventures. I would be totally engrossed in the yarns that they spun, imagining myself in their shoes in those stories. I know that each of those stories were mostly true with some exaggerations and embellishments, but It didn't matter to me the level of truth or fiction being relayed, no, the story was all that mattered. True, accurate or not, those stories gave that younger me a door to a world long past. An avenue in which to explore a lifestyle that the world had pushed to the annals of history.

Now that I am one of the old timers, I feel it is my responsibility to share those stories, as well as a few of my own, with the younger generation. I do not fancy myself a writer, or even a good storyteller, but I try. With this platform I have decided to share some of these stories with as many people that are interested in them. Though the true names and exact places may have been changed, characters added or omitted, the crux of the stories are as told to me and each hold a special place in my heart.

Dear reader I hope you enjoy these and take them for what they are. A window into my past.
