Um. . . So what do I do if I created an OC to be a short lived love-interest (But not love, just there for conflict), and now I like said OC so much I actually want them to end up with the MC instead of the actual love interest.
Like, the OC deserves so much better than what I was planning to do to them!

@TheSwampAngel That all makes a lot of sense! Definitely something I'll dig into. Thank you so much :]

Oooh tough. But could be fun. Yk maybe it’ll make your story different from the rest. People always assume the third party obviously doesn’t deserve someone. You making them lovable could lead readers to see the original couple even better. Let me explain what I mean lol… so with this other person being so easy to like, maybe the other love interest not being as easy is what makes them and the mc so perfect. There’s depth yk. Not just easy to like. And the mc I’m sure isn’t perfect and that’s what makes them and the original love interest perfect. And you ca either have the characters realize that or just subtly have the third party realize they deserve more and those imperfections from the other two contrast eachother perfectly.
Sorry that was a lot. I don’t even know if that makes sense when I say it. Hope I helped at least a little.
