Heyy!! So I felt more safe recommending the books here. As you're just getting into the bl genre, I suggest "Kaleidoscope of Death". It was my first bl novel. You can read it on Google. But it's not that romantic. I mean, it's more on the adventure side. But yeah it is sad. There's also some more like this named "Global Examination", "The Earth is Online" etc. But they're not on the romantic side. Tho they're lwk emotional too. Global examination is the most emotional outta the three. There's no spice in these. They're you could say... Dystopian?
Now comes my all time fav : "Heaven Official's Blessing" or "Tian Guan Ci Fu". This is PEAK. This novel is what I'd call traumatic. Like... Ahh u need to read it at least once in ur life and I'd trade my soul if it means I can read it for the first time again. It doesn't have spice except for kissing in one of the chapters.(This novel will potentially break you.)
Then there's my second fav: "Little Mushroom". It is cute and has fluff but also it's a liiiiiiitle heartbreaking. I love it sm and u shud give it a try.
There's also one called "The Husky And His White Cat Shizun". This is heartbreaking too. It has some mature scenes. I mean MANY mature scenes lol. But it's DEFINITELY worth the read. (I haven't completed it yet cuz I've been busy but it's so good)
There's modern ones like "Fake Slackers" and "Fake Dates and Mooncakes" which are GREAT for a light fluffy read. I personally loved them.
And then there's a novel which isn't really bl but yeah... The fans consider it a bl. It's called "Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint" or just "The Omniscient Reader'. This one's so fkin traumatic too. It's like, the world becomes like a novel but a deadly one. There's all adventure, friendship and heartbreak altogether. It's one of my fav non-bl novels.
