Right now I'm averaging 1,000 words per chapter but my goal is around 2,300-3,000 more or less with the first chapter being the shortest so there's quite a bit of writing I have to go back in to add. There is no real reason for this but I do think having such a goal will help me be more descriptive. It's just a little guideline for me as an amateur writer. Ultimately, if a chapter calls for less words, I won't push.

If you’re reading my story, just ignore the rough pacing. I’ll be adjusting any jarring or sudden story developments once I have organized the general outline and story beats. Any pacing issues are my fault for raw dogging the novel, but feel free to note—any mistakes, really—so I can make a change upon rewrite. ˖.☘︎ ݁˖
