I want to be upfront about something before we discuss anything further. At this time, I’m unfortunately not in a position to pay for commissioned artwork or other paid services, and I don’t want to promise something financially that I’m unable to provide.
That said, I would still love to support your work in a way that I can offer. If you’re open to payment in kind, I could do something such as:
• Create a reaction chapter featuring or discussing your work
• Give you clear credit and mention you as the artist/creator
• Create a character for you, if that’s something you would enjoy
• Feature or recommend your work where appropriate
• Or, if you have another form of non-monetary collaboration in mind, I’d be happy to hear your ideas.
Of course, there’s absolutely no pressure if that type of arrangement isn't what you're looking for. I completely understand that artists deserve to be compensated in whatever way works best for them.
I just didn't want to ignore your offer or simply say “sorry, I can't pay.” I wanted to be honest about my situation while also showing that I value the time, creativity, and effort that goes into what you do.
