Guys! I’m back!! Sorry for being a total liar and not updating for *checks notes* an entire month?!? Damn, wtf. Anyways, I pinky promise that I will post new chapters today. Would a cute, out of context Josephine and JJ moment make it better? :)
          
          
          
          “You know,” JJ said after a moment, “I’ve been thinking about it.”
          
          “About what?” Josephine asked, sniffling as she wiped at her cheeks.
          
          “Our wedding.” His eyes lit up as he said it, like it was the most natural thing in the world. “I know we didn’t really get to talk about it before, but I think I’ve got it all figured out.”
          
          She let out a watery laugh, shaking her head at him. “Oh, do you now?”
          
          “Yeah,” he said, grin widening. “Okay, so picture it. We’re on a beach. Not, like, some fancy Touron beach or anything. I’m talking one of those little secret ones you’ve gotta hike through the woods to get to. Just soft sand and waves that sound like music.”
          
          “Sounds like you’ve put a lot of thought into this.”
          
          “Oh, I’ve had time to think, trust me.” His voice took on that playful edge she loved so much. “And we won’t do any of that boring stuff, you know? Just you in a little white dress and me barefoot in the sand saying I do.”
          
          Josephine laughed again, even as her chest ached with the weight of his words. “I love it, J.”
          
          “Yeah?” he asked, his grin softening into something sweeter. “You do?”
          
          Through her tears, she nodded. “Yeah. It’s perfect.”
          
          For a moment, he just looked at her, his blue eyes shimmering like the ocean under the moonlight. “Good,” he said quietly. “I wanted it to be perfect for you.”

          Also, it’s starting to hit me that the Fool’s Gold series will be ending the end of this year/early next year and it’s making me very emo
