Evelyn had Woke up to sounds that she had gotten use to living with, unaware just how close she was to the one she wished to spend her free time with, but she wasn’t use to it being so….. consistent… her brows furrowed softly, her head lifting from her pillow, sitting up, the section of her comforter that laid upon her torso falling onto her lap, coiled strawberry blonde hair a bit puffed up from the few hours of sleep she had, her hand reached up to smooth it out with her finger Tips, her toes making the softest of taps upon the floor, as she drifted out of bed, bottom of her nightgown swishing gently back and forward, with the movement made, before straightening out. Her hands grasped the robe that matched her sleepwear, slipping her arms into the baggy sleeves, her fingertips drifted across the Silk to grasp the ties, But before she could tie it, she realized the sounds heard within her room, weren’t the only ones… a thud from another room within the house, Rushing Footsteps, a familiar sound…. But not familiar enough, a lump gathered in her throat, she could recognize the sounds of her own solders, these ones were different… Soldiers from an Enemy Army…her body had stilled for only a second, and then she shifted over to the window, attempting to carefully and quietly, get it open, a silent inhale was sucked between her teeth, hearing them get closer To The Room... her fingers fumbling with the window frame, shaky legs climbing on top of a footstool…

[@-_Survivors_Guilt_-] Thomas froze in horror as the enemy seized Evelyn and dragged her away from the window where he had been escaping from. If he still had a heart , it would’ve been pounding clear out of his chest. It wasn’t for himself — he’d already lost his life long ago — but for her. “ Miss DelaRosa ! ” he called , panic slipping into his voice. Only she could hear him. For one terrible moment , he felt helpless. A ghost couldn’t throw a punch or shield someone from harm. But there was still one thing he could do. Keeping himself out of sight , Thomas drifted across the room and wrapped unseen hands around a nearby lamp. To the intruders , it suddenly lifted into the air on its own. Before they could react , he swung it hard into the back of one man’s head. The soldier cried out in pain , stumbling forward and releasing Evelyn as he clutched his skull. Thomas wasted no time. He snatched up another loose object and hurled it across the room , striking the second man square in the face. “ Miss DelaRosa , run ! ” he shouted. “ Go on now ! I’ll keep ’em busy ! ” Already reaching for another object , the ghost prepared to throw again , determined to buy her whatever time he could.

She felt a harsh pop in the ankle that had been yanked back, unable to find her footing, due to the momentum she felt her body move farther back than expected, her scream was cut off, as she hit the side of her skull upon the wooden corner of the stool, her body suddenly feeling fuzzy, the feeling collecting within her head quite intensely. The men leered at her, one holding their gun up, the woman only realizing as the gun was held in front of her mouth, instinctively, she tensed up, the fear rising as the silent time dragged on, no shift of the trigger, no bang… as if they were taunting her, her blue eyes slowly opening almost… making eye contact with the barrel of the gun… her body freezing in place, despite the wave of nausea that hit her.

((@ghostof45 )) Every so often, when something moved or made a sound her eyes would shift over, at first in slight alarm and followed relief when it was nothing, soon, her glances were only of recognition of the usual happenings, occasionally, in some situations she could find it strangely humorous, she couldn’t help it, after all, some things were bound to be comedically timed, but this…. this was much the opposite. When the window gave way, much easier than usual due to his added pressure, she first put it up to a stroke of luck, The Yell of her name had a chill zipping down her spine, glancing back, eyes slightly squinted within the dark, making sure her door was still closed, though the more he spoke the more familiar it sounded… she didn’t question him further, turning towards the window, she didn’t think to respond, focusing only on the escape, her ears listening intently listening to the pounding upon the floors that sounded like continual thunder. For a moment she’d held her breath, as she hoisted herself up over the window sill and onto the ground outside, 3 Armed Men bursted in the door, one spotting her ankle as it moved out the window, without a second thought, they were running across the room, she attempted to get up, but she wasn’t quick enough, one Vaulting onto the Stool, hand Reaching out, grasping her ankle, she was only a few seconds from safety, attempting to grasp onto the grass, the dirt within the ground, anything, but it was all in vain, she let out a bloodcurdling scream as some of her fingernails caught on the part of the grass that shifted to cement, a few on the window, tearing off in excruciating ways.
