I read English and Filipino novels. I find both stress-relieving and reality-awakening. In the English section, I'd rather read paranormal or supernatural young-adult novels (vampires, angels, werewolf, greek myth,etc), especially when I yearn to escape the agonizing reality. I read Filipino classic novels when I ought to be acquianted with the fact that the world has a lot of crevices and even though those works were fiction, reality is still infused in its letters and possibility is bounded in its meaning. 

So basically I read to escape and accept.
