Hi, readers

I have been writing teen fiction for about ten years, partially inspired by my professional work with children and young people. I like to weave fantastical elements into my fiction, though my priority is to emphasise emotional truth and characterisation in my writing: science fiction or fantasy may be a little misleading. Overall, I enjoy developing teen characters overcoming significant obstacles in their lives in mostly everyday settings.

I live in the north of Ireland and one of my short stories has won a prize in a local newspaper competition.
