Before teaching tweenagers how to hack responsibly in China I was an urban youth leader in Chicago. I worked with teen moms, drop outs, gang bangers, juvies, street corner pharmacists and other kids who turned roadblocks in their life into stepping stones to reach their goals.

Will someone please explain to me why the words you have to know for your SAT tests are never found in anything you actually read...except your study book for your SAT test? That's why I'm working on young adult novels that throw in a few of these brainiac words, without making you roll your eyes.
Like Lucky Charms for your head.
That way, you can have fun reading and building your noggin at the same time.

Other stuff?
I grew up in southwestern Michigan, in a town with less people than were on my plane flight to China. Even backwhen polyester ruled and Farrah Fawcett hair was a must, I dealt with the same issues as kids today. Pestering siblings, boredom and peer pressure. All that is different is now you have cell phones.
