ok finished all the editing. redid all moodboards for the intro&act1 chapter, made a new title card, and slightly tweaked the act1 playlist. take a peek if you’d like, but nothing plot/writing wise has been changed so you aren’t missing anything if you don’t :>

@moshfegh its just like. not good. the politics and worldbuilding make no sense, plus the whole trials plot (the main thing) is a giant plothole in itself. no characters besides paedyn and kai have personality, they’re just vehicles to fuel THEIR development. dialogue is clunky and unnatural to the point it takes you out of the book. the writing is soooo repetitive with its attempt at prose, kai’s mentioned feeling like he’s drowning bc of paedyn at least once every chapter. i genuinely don’t think there was an editor/editing process bc the pacing is awful, there’s so much useless dialogue that does nothing for the story, and simple continuity mistakes that could have been easily avoided if someone read through it ONCE critically. it’s an unnecessary 60-something chapters that serve nothing burger. that being said, some of the stuff is amusing if you want to laugh AT the book and not with it. like kai’s always taking his shirt off for no reason and it’s supposed to be like “omg hes so hot” but is more like “wth are you doing :sob:.” plus there’s the corny “WHO DID THIS TO YOU!” dialogue that happens like four times. besides the awful writing if ur looking for actually good enemies to lovers slowburn this is NOT the book for you bc they were cuddling by like, chapter 30.
