you can tell when these users are using chat or some other AI platform. the biggest giveaway is the dash. the second biggest giveaway is the writing:
1. short, fake deep dialogue:
“you never hesitate.”
“no.”
“good. don’t start now.”
“wasn’t planning on it.”
2. overuse of descriptions:
“he’s waiting. lurking. sensing.”
“she’s passionate. understanding. kind.”
i even went to chat and gave it a prompt:
“Please write the opening chapter for a Fourth Wing fanfic. Here’s some background:
The female main character is from the real world where the Empyrean series is nothing but a book. She died in the real world and has been dropped in the world of Fourth Wing on Conscription Day.
Be descriptive. Dramatic, but not to much. She’s guarded and level headed. She realizes what’s happening and falls in line quickly. She isn’t quick to introduce herself or insert herself in the first scene. However, Xaden somehow still notices her.”
here’s some of the result:
“A gust of wind tears through the courtyard, stronger this time. It carries a different sound with it—low, distant, unmistakable.
Someone curses under their breath. Another lets out a shaky laugh that sounds closer to hysteria.
She doesn’t react.
But her fingers flex once at her sides.
Dragons.
Not words on a page. Not imagination.
Real.
Dangerous.
Deadly.”
notice the long dash? the dramatic descriptions? lmfaooooo. no wonder everyone’s screaming “plagiarism”. all you newbie “writers” are using chat without at least putting your own spin on things. but hey, do you. i almost wanted to do a fanfic my damn self bc it sucked me in lmfaoo.
but for those using AI, stop crying wolf. everyone is using it without modification so of course everything will be similar if not the same.
