Hey, guys!
I'm author, G.J. Ouellette, and I'm not exactly sure how I should introduce myself. I am so used to writing behind another character's eyes that I seem to have become unfamiliar with my own; however, I am an avid teen fiction writer. While fantasy and science fiction have their charms, I like to grab reality and stretch it, pull it, inspect it, until I find the deepest, truest, most relatable facts that lie just beneath the surface of our everyday consciousness. I do this because, to me, there is nothing more important than being able to feel for the characters. If you walk away from a book and feel nothing towards the characters and what they did, then the writer has failed you. I feel teen fiction is such a powerful outlet into this reader-character connection, because no one makes it out of their teen years unscathed, and a book genre that channels that hurt and discomfort forces the reader to think about, feel, and experience everything the characters do. I am so excited to be joining the Wattpad community so that I care share some of my character's moments with all of you.
Thanks, loves!
