Naim is undeniably a villain in both the show and my story. However, I see him as a more complex, grey character. Despite his cruelty, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy when he spoke about his childhood. His ignorance, lack of education, bigotry, and submissive nature shaped him into the person he is. He wields power over those weaker than himself, not out of strength, but to mask his own vulnerability and pain, weakening others to feel less powerless himself.
