i don't have a problem with the x-men cast tbh, they're pretty fire. that being said, if anyone else of the stranger things goobers that is noah schnapp or millie bobby brown come even close to putting their crunchy hands on a marvel noodle, i'm going to swing my bat down like fuckin negan and send them all the way to the void

SPIDER-MAN BRAND NEW DAY REVIEW // SPOILER ALERT

spider-man brand new day is one of the most important superhero films of the decade by far.

the story of the film implies the need for human connection, and sheds light on the feeling of isolation in this modern world. amongst all the chaos and thriving to become the best version of ourselves, we get so lost into our work that we forget to breathe in the moment and spend some time with the people we love.

peter goes to a similar metamorphosis, after the world forgets who he is, he only lives as Spider-Man and forgets the peter parker part, completely submitting himself into fighting crime in new york, but his emotional negligence soon catches up to him. his powers begin to mutate, changes occur in his body that he tries to fight, which he tries to suppress. over the course of time though, he realises that hiding behind the mask he wears, suppressing who he truly is is going to pull him away from himself, is going to make him bitter, he learns to accept. -. and when he realises that mirror in jean, he helps her. jean serves as a mirror to him in the entire narrative. peter begins with fighting her, only to let her understand that she's not alone. because that's what it takes. one person makes all the difference, a pat on the shoulder and a hug and being told that the world isn't over yet.

Spider-Man : Brand New Day is, for me, the greatest Spider-Man film ever made. For those who're about to watch it, don't expect an action-spectacle but a grounded character driven story, and you'll understand why it's so important. I'll drop a discussion thread here soon.
