@afflamed      ⟢      i’ve always tried to do my own modifications when i was a racer, thought i’d pick up being a mechanic    ..it’s been around six months.

       she listens with a sheepish smile, feeling as though she had been slapped on the wrist for asking.   she adjusted her posture, standing upright.    ``     i don't really know much about the race scene before I joined, so it's all just .. there, i guess?  I figured i would ask you instead of listening to gossip.  I'm hoping to just get a name out there, really   --   winning was never it for me.    ``     she carried the conversation away from what seemed to be a bitter talk,  hoping to ease the growing tension.     ``     I wanted to be a mechanic first, but I guess plans changed .    ``

[a deadpan, there were usually those who would come and go in the repair shop. whether it to be to truly fix their bike, or to catch a glimpse of the renowned ‘phantomline’ now mechanic.]      there’s nothing grand to the race itself, but i’m not that popular    ..not anymore. you don’t need to do what everyone else does in order to win, i’d like to think i was proof of that for a bit.
