As we near the end of July, and subsequently enter the dog days of summer, I would like to reflect.

This summer did NOT go as planned for me. In the months leading up to it, I pictured something so glorified and serendipitous; I would embrace myself, spend lots of time growing emotionally and physically, eat healthy, recover from the events of the wintertime, and write.

          	Write. Hah.

I love writing. I feel that no matter who is reading my work, it is plain that I am passionate about storytelling. I love the feeling of sitting at my computer and belting out whatever comes to mind. I love picturing it, just like a movie, in my head. The process is grueling, and involves a lot of setting aside doubts and insecurities, but I love it. I burn for it. But I was not anticipating such burnout come May.

So you can imagine how it looks now, with me popping up after being radio silent for mostly the entire summer. Especially when I was building up such anticipation for Chosen Boy. So things didn't go as planned. Obviously.

In fact, a lot of things didn't go as planned. As aforementioned, I desired to grow emotionally. I daresay I did, but unfortunately was struck by one blow after another with physical health. The latest side effects, with full transparency, are heart problems. Heart problems! And here I was, smashing HIIT workouts without a second thought.

You can imagine I am a bit shaken by this, despite not knowing if it's serious or not yet. But this latest bout of issues has reignited what I lost when I burnt out. I want to write. And I love Harry Potter. And so I'll write about Harry Potter.

All of this rambling aside, I wanted to share with you guys that this winter, I will write my fingers off. Starting with finishing up The Potions Master (be expecting updates weekly again!), then picking up Chosen Boy again in late September, and then, hopefully, a new AU that I conjured up late one night last month!

I love you all so much. Thank you for sticking around.

Hey all! I got to thinking earlier this week, and I have an unfortunate announcement to make: The Potions Master will be going on a hiatus. I'll be announcing the date in which it will be returning soon! I just need some time and space to work on my upcoming project, Chosen Boy, and I figure that the last chapter, "Half-Blood Prince," works very well as a cliffhanger (hehe). I have already promised myself that I will finish this work, so do not fret about it being incomplete! Thank you all for the support so far and I'll be back to announce a date shortly!

goliathwrites

@Kim_not_so_nerd I'm so glad you're looking forward to it! I am too haha. But after writing this last chapter I realized I should probably patch up the plot a bit and give it a bit of a break after working on it for about three months! I can't wait to start posting on it again, while posting on Chosen Boy too! Both make me absolutely ecstatic and I'm so happy people are enjoying the work I'm putting out there <3

@ohsweetchildofmine I'm actually very excited about the prospects of finishing planning The Potions Master and also working on Chosen Boy! It's all very exciting <3

It does work well as a cliffhanger! Hahahaha! I'm looking forward to reading it when you continue! Have fun with Chosen Boy! I'm looking forward to that too, and you look really happy when you talk about it on TikTok❤

Hi ho! Just a little post to say that I love you guys so much, and that we've surpassed an incredible milestone! The Potions Master has officially reached two-hundred pages! That's 2/3rds of the way to being the length of The Sorcerer's Stone. Thank you for the support thus far <3

I also am publishing, today, an imagines book! If you want, you can message me a scenario you'd like to be written and I'll write it! I'm aiming for updates to be on Tuesdays and Thursdays on that, if I get enough traffic. Otherwise it'll just be on Tuesdays.

Lastly, just to spur on a little hype, I have officially begun research for "Chosen Boy"! (That's just the working title, but still). I can't wait to show you all what I have planned--let's just say that my production of Neville content is far from being over!

Love you guys lots and take care this week!

goliathwrites

Hey all! So I’m going to try and get that chapter up for The Potions Master tonight, but in the meantime I’m curious to know something from all of you lovely readers of mine. Recently, on TikTok, somebody stumbled across a really old video of mine, in which I was setting the aesthetic for my own original book. They commented that they wanted to read it now, but the thing is that I never began on it due to impostor’s syndrome.

But I spent all of yesterday thinking about the plot, and how it was a shame I abandoned it in hopes that I would “do better at writing it when I’m older.” I think that mentality is dumb now.

So what I’m really asking here is that if I started on that personal work and updated it frequently up until April 1st (then I’ll be starting on Chosen Boy and won’t have time) would any of you care to read? If not, that’s totally fine, I’m only asking because I’m wary of putting my personal works up on the internet!

          Love you all!

Katizwitchy

@longerbottom I really like reading your work! I mostly use wattpad just to keep up with your fic, and I would love to read more of your work if you'd be willing to share. :)

Oh my gosh, is it already Friday?! I am so sorry, but the week has totally slipped away from me! There will not be an update on The Potions Master today, as the newest chapter is not finished yet (and I’ve not written today as I am not feeling well). I hope you all had a wonderful week, though, and I will try to get that chapter up ASAP!

I hope you feel better! Take your time

HELLO, I'm currently writing this week's chapter for The Potions Master and I just had to share with you all that I am having SO. MUCH. FUN. with it. I really hope you guys enjoy it--although I will warn that it might come off as rushed because I'm trying to keep up with my imagination. It's so dang cheesy and so dang fluffy but just know that there was true passion behind it. Although, to be honest, I feel like all you Neville simps are gonna be like "FINALLY. SOME SUBSTANCE." Because same. Gosh. Sorry for rambling BUT I JUST LOVE THIS UPCOMING CHAPTER.

@fandommess The way I get passionate about my garbage fire chapters is hilarious

Hello all! Just a quick announcement—there will be no “Potions Master” update this Friday! I want there to be quality over quantity, and right now I’m so busy (it being Christmas week and my having four different families to tend to and all) that writing will have to be put on pause just until next week. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays and I’ll see you again shortly! Love ya ❤️

Hello sweet ones! I know it's late but I've just uploaded Chapter 9 of The Potions Master. I have to apologize--this chapter may sound like a bit of a lull. I hit a major writer's block while working on it! Hopefully I hit a freefall again soon. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy what this chapter has to offer! Much love.

goliathwrites

Hi there! I just wanted to give you all a quick update: The Potions Master is now on a weekly schedule! NaNoWriMo just wrapped up, so after all that *ahem* word vomiting, I am reducing the amount I will be writing every week and crafting a better routine for myself. Be expectant of updates every Friday! At least, that's the goal.

Also, I've got a surprise coming soon! Stay tuned! Good day!
