Hello...
I want to apologize for my absence over the last part of 2024. There are no excuses for my continuous abandonment of this project, and yet I will be honest: I am going to share many.
A little story about how this agony came to be was that I finished Her Dark Soul after working on it for well over 10 years. I quickly felt lost without having this one constant in my life, so I did what any crazy person does and became fixated on how to make this project stay around.
At the beginning of 2024 I started writing again and decided that I couldn't allow middle school me to get away with the garbage she had first written and posted in 2012.
This is where things start going downhill. I had wanted someone to edit my chapters, so I began to rely on my friend to go over the chapters before I posted them. This led to later and later postings due to us both slowly becoming less insistent on finishing this story again.
Then, in March, my cat, who I've had for over 10 years, was diagnosed with diabetes. They said he would recover, but he ended up passing the first of October 2024 after months of fighting. This was probably the most significant heartbreak I could face. He was my everything, and everything took a back seat to the undeniable grief I am still struggling with today.
That being said, there were a lot of beautiful things that also came out of this year that made my life incredibly fulfilling again. I started a writing club in early May. Moved in July. Celebrated 4 years with my amazing boyfriend and got promoted.
Now we are here, a new year, and I am back. I am really, really trying to finish Her Dark Soul and, hopefully, Aphelion as well. Although I can not always promise regular updates because life is hard and I am only a little guy, I will try my absolute hardest not to let any of you down this year.
I hope 2025 brings you so much happiness, love, and prosperity. I genuinely hope I can be the reason some of it happens.
