"The moment I had confronted my parents about quitting my training for being a hunter is when all hell broke loose. My dad freaked and began on his usual rant about how important it was that everyone in our family lived up to what our ancestors had accomplished. He continued in saying how I would be able to catch up as long and I kept my eye on the prize. A prize I didn't even want.
"You don't get it dad. I don't want to be a hunter. Why should I do something I'm not even good at? I was at the bottom of my class before the accident and I'll still be there when I go back, only I'll be further behind now. The trainers look at me in pity because even they know I can't live up to the rest of my family. I mean look at you guys. You and mom are two of the best hunters in history and Marshall is the family prodigy. I have a lot more pressure on me to be a great hunter than the rest of the kids do," I finished my rant and brushed unshed tears from my eyes.
"Honey, we understand you have more pressure on you, but you can't just quit being a hunter. I know being in our family makes it a little harder on you, but we do have a reputation to uphold. You know that once you become a full fledged hunter you have to help your brother with family obligations," my mother reminded me.
"Yes, I remember all the obligations I'm to inherit once I complete my training. Help guard a mysterious werewolf that our ancestors captured and locked away, make sure he stays there, run around yelling at other people, blah, blah, blah."
"Sage, we don't go around yelling at other people and you know that. The council does that," Marshall joked from the doorway.
"Speaking of the council, could you guys at least contact them and ask for me to get an extension on my final exam? Since there is apparently no way I can get out of being a werewolf hunter the least I can get is an extension," I asked.
