     grant could only get himself to smile more at this reaction . how could he not enjoy this ? stepping closer , he gave a small glance around to make sure no one was around ( mainly for the other man's sake ) , before snaking his arms around the commander's neck . no kiss yet . `` hm , you were sure enjoying yourself a lot then for someone just ' tolerating ' it . ``

            graves couldn’t help but glance away , he wasn’t the type of man to get embarrassed easily but there was something about grant that made the heat rise in his face unlike any other person before .  well , except his ex-wife maybe but that was long ago .  “ you’re lucky that i even tolerate it .  even though you tend to push it .  ”

    `` I wasn't trying to seem insulting , commander . I like when your accent shows . `` he mightve been messing with graves right now , but he did mean what he said . `` such threatening words for a man who was enjoying it last night . `` 

     `` it's the weekend  and I have no test or projects coming up . `` he says honestly  . `` that just something I don't do . i don't cause problems like my father . ``

            “ don’t you have some studyin’ to do ?  ” graves arched a brow , his arms now crossed against his chest .  “ how do i know you ain’t gonna go and cause some fuss ?  ”

     elliot huffs out at this . `` why not ? `` he gave a small pout , arms crossing now . `` it's just to see some friends . `` 

      `` again ? `` he repeated , voice turning into something of offense . mock offense . `` that was only two times . and i was BORROWING  , because I was gonna put it back once I was done . `` he paused for a moment , fingers tapping against the table . `` i don't actually have it this time . ``

            graves let out a sigh , leaning a bit back into his chair .  “ quit bein’ a baby .  and besides  ,  something tells me that you went and stole my card AGAIN .  i told you to quit it  ,  now hand it over so  / i /  can pay .  ”
            
            / he’s grounded .

     `` well , no . `` he lightly shrugged . `` i was trying to sound romantic , but you kinda spoil the mood now . ``

            for a fraction of a moment , graves watched that fluid motion , he knew better than to let his eyes linger so he tried to make it appear as though his gaze weren’t too obvious .  “ knew my eyes spotted correctly .  ” the commander smiled , pleased yet again .  “ phillip graves .  wouldn’t doubt you’ve heard of me down the grapevine from somewhere .  ” and with that , he returned the gesture with a firm handshake of his own .

            gideon had picked his glass up by now , bringing it to his mouth as he listened to the other , he let the drink burn down his throat for a moment before his gaze turned back to the other .
            
            ` ` that ' s right . ` ` he ' d hum before setting his glass back down.  ` ` gideon o ' malley . you are ? ` ` he ' d offer a bandage - wrapped hand .

            graves let out a soft laugh , highly amused by such a response .  the commander’s movements were causal , subtle as if he didn’t have to flaunt like most men of his status .  not that graves hasn’t flaunting in the past nor the fact he has in the present , he simply just knew when it was a good time to ‘show off’ or not .  “ can’t say a picture could perfectly capture what i’m staring at .  ” he hummed , blues eyes silently assessing .  “ and from the looks of it  ,  you ain’t no regular civilian..  are you ?  i can tell a fellow workin’ man from MILES away .  ”

            “ and YOU’D look so much better with your mouth closed .  ” a little harsh but it wasn’t like graves meant for it to have any harsh bite in his words .  “ now  ,  c’mon .  we’re takin’ you back to your place .  ”

            “ as you should .  ” he offered a hint of sarcasm right back , if it wasn’t for graves , grant would’ve had a one way ticket to jail but the commander saw some value in the other man , hand-picked just like all his other soldiers .  “ very funny .  some would agree with that statement of yours but not that i really care  ,  i get the job done .  that’s all that matters .  ” 

      `` I feel so honored . `` the words came out slightly sarcastic , just a tiny bit . `` you're telling me you are not already crazy ? `` he lets a playful , surprised gasp out as he tightened his hold around the other just slightly .

            “ should feel lucky that i even put up with you .  ” again , no harsh intent in his words .  despite how graves offered comes across , he does depend on grant to some extent but never in his life would he ever admit that .  “ believe it or not  ,  i do .  think i’d go crazy without sleep and havin’ to deal with you boys at the same time .  ”
