Hey all,

Just wanted to let you all know I will be putting The Sparrow King on pause. I've had some IRL stuff come up unexpectedly. I'm also not really enjoying the week to week writing thing, as it doesn't give me any time to go back and change/edit after I've written.

I'll likely take some time to build up a buffer before I start publishing again. Not sure when that'll be, but when I know more I'll let you know.

Sorry to leave you all hanging. A thousand apologies are not enough!

          	-Grey

Good Idea. This will prevent a lot of anxiety and give you much more flexibility. ❤️ creativity needs space and time to experience life as well. Relax and be at your pace. We will be loyally waiting. ❤️

No worries! It's waaayyy too much pressure! And if I could only post and not edit afterward, I'd never sleep again! Lol. Take all the time you need because the Ao and Sanli fans know it will be totally worth it whenever it's ready♡

@greydaygirl the 'live' weekly posting is very hard. I am happy to wait as long as it takes for you to prep your chapters. Once you have the backlog, you can try out Wattpad’s new scheduling feature so you work in peace on the next chapters without worrying about posting.

Hello greydaygirl! It's been so long since I've logged back into wattpad and I just wanted you to know you're the first person I checked on. I really loved the wandering god and I hope to see it have a physical copy someday, I'll be sure to buy a copy. I look forward to more of your works! <3

Gaiyatri

I re-download Wattpad every few months just to check for updates on her stories. She is one the most amazing storytellers I have ever come across in my life.

Heyyyy i just wanted to let you know I am absolutely obsessed with your writing and ever since I came across the wandering God I've read it non stop. I am absolutely thrilled for the sparrow king and can't wait for it to be out. I have this really bad habbit where I just can not function properly until I have reached the end of a story and that is what is happening to me now. But yeah just wanted to say you are extremely talented and pls bring it out ASAP or i'll go mad

Hey all,

Just to let you know this week’s update will most likely be late. I am traveling in Hokkaido with my family and haven’t had much time to write. Absolutely lovely here, lots of mountains and rain and forests and moss, plus delicious ramen. I’m in heaven!

          Take care,

Hi… I’ve been really anxious about messaging you, but I’ve decided to go for it! I’ve been reading The Wandering God for a long time now. I was scared my message might be met with refusal or even you taking down the work. I’m still only on chapter ~49 so I reeeally hope that’s not the case. I’d be a lot further along if I would stop taking extended breaks from Wattpad. The thing is, the only reason I won’t delete the app is your story. It’s my favourite book I’ve ever read! I’m an English major with a reading addiction, so that says a lot. I am also a novice book binder, which gets me around to the question I was worried about. I want your permission to print and bind your book. If you have a copy of the document it was written on, I would really appreciate access to it (only viewer access of course). Though, that’s not necessary, just preference. The reason I bother asking is to honour the work you put into this piece. I want you to have a say in what happens to it. You’ve allowed so many people to relish in your works for free, I pray your generosity would continue. I would be… I can’t think of a word to sum up the feeling. Something like overjoyed, proud, honoured, uncontrollably sobbing at the beauty and perfection— if I could have your book in print and binding on my shelves. I’d carry it with me on trips to town so when people saw me reading and asked my favourite book I could show them yours. I’ve never met someone else who knew of it, but I would boast it to the world. I realise this has turned into a love letter, a confession of sorts… Please understand that I mean every word. Authors often express that comments are a great source of encouragement; I hope you draw on what I’ve said to keep creating and improving the way you’ve shown you’re already you’re immensely capable of. I look forward to reading your other works when I finish The Wandering God! Thank you so much

@greydaygirl Book binding can be done in lots of ways. There’s a ton of different material options because of that too, ranging from leather to boards covered in decorative paper and to just pieces of plastic (). I prefer using boards kept together with cloth, glue, paper, stitching, and the patience of a monk. There are some really cool beginner videos of TikTok that explain it better. You could also go there to just get a feel for how diverse the art is. Thanks so much for your sweet response

Oh my gosh thank you for this beautiful message! You’re a fantastic writer yourself! I have been thinking about trying to make physical copies of TWG… but it wouldn’t be for a while yet. There are quite a few parts that need to be rewritten and edited before I’d feel comfortable putting it in physical form. As soon as I feel it’s ready though I’ll let you know!

That’s awesome you’re learning book binding!!! Maybe this is a dumb question but what do you bind them with? I once took a short class to learn how to bind books in the traditional Japanese style, where to punch holes and then tie it with twine. It was fun, but way harder than I thought!

Thank you again for your message. You are right, it is a big encouragement to writers to know people enjoy their work! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

I was hoping to finish up Chapter 1 this update, but ran out of time. It should conclude next Friday, with a bit of action. And a bit of spice.

          See you then!

Adraneia

This is the best surprise ever, you re the only reason I haven t deleted this app yet. Read all your works and will reread TWG before TSK!!!!! Keep it up, we're all really proud.

PayelChowdhury2

@greydaygirl you are the only reason I still have the app, because I really really love your stories and your characters.
