hahaha it's been literal years but look who's back ! idk if anyone is even going to remember me but i'm trying to get back into writing on here and i've unpublished all of my old works as they no longer represent my abilities and/or style. i've just published the first chapter of a new story ("frost") which features the main character of my old work "bright precious things." i'm pretty happy with the voice and style of it so far and i hope you'll all check it out! this new story is partially focused on pepper through the eyes of jordan, the deuteragonist. (this is somewhat similar to the great gatsby: jordan narrates like nick, while the plot is shaped largely by pepper and her interactions with jordan.) there are themes of disordered eating but i want to stress that this book is not pro-ana or a romantic portrayal of any harmful behaviors. throughout "frost" and any later installations, recovery will become an important theme and character development and other critical elements will always be my top priority. generally, this work focuses on relationships and personal growth, with additional elements for depth and parallel subplots. i know literature that includes discussion of these kinds of themes is increasingly undesirable (like people started to realize john green's books are insensitive and romanticized) but my focus will never be on making something "pretty" or "mysterious" or "tragically beautiful." i hope all that made sense and that i've done a decent job of advocating for my new work!! please check it out and let me know how you feel in the comments or a message!

@lilo99 aw, thank you so much! i'm glad you thought about that. i know that sometimes people look at eating disorders and think that the people are horribly extreme and they're like, one percent of the population, but you're right in that many people feel this way even if they (fortunately) don't act on it. i'm also glad you appreciate the sexual identity stuff, because that's also a big problem that is sometimes more discriminatory towards women than men. ie. girls thinking (male) gay couples are so 'cute' but then being completely repulsed by their female peers if they aren't 'straight'. i'm glad the book has been provoking thought and i hope to update soon! thanks for reading. sure, you can email me any time at grxciebell@gmail.com :)

So right now I'm reading your book "Fat" and as I was reading for some reason the words that Pepper says about herself made me think..the first thoughts that came to my mind was that this was over the top and extreme..but then I realised it wasn't. This is exactly what most girls (even some guys) think about themselves! There is a lot of truth around what you are saying-and making her bi reminds me of stuff I went through and made me really think about it! Sorry for the ramble but I just wanted you to know how much I love your story! It would be really cool to actually talk to you so you should email me- leah.aisling@gmail.com
          Love,
