• The "bite" on the Apple Inc. logo is design to emphasize that it is an APPLE, and NOT a TOMATO. It also lent itself to a nerdy play on words (bite/BYTE), a fitting reference for a tech company.
• SHAKEY'S Pizza got its name "Shakey" when its founder Sherwood "Shakey" Johnson had a nerve damage due to malaria during World War II.
