so i am kinda 5’3 and i weight around 60kg and i am naturally a bit of a huge muscle girl so all my life, never had the tonned slim legs or body or whatsoever and i have always been self conscious of my own body image and often have insecurities on it. and i have been trying to get over it but my friends.. yes, friends, they have been keeping on bodyshaming me for the past few days and its so uncomfortable and upsetting knowing that they knew i was sensitive to such topics yet they couldn’t let go and called me names and such.

few boys from our college blankly fatshammed me while i was on my way to washroom during breaks several times which is making me slowly loose my confidence that ive built for the last few months :(

idk but its just.. ig we all get our own insecurity and my weight has always been my insecurities and now, because of all of this my toxic dieting shitty idea is slowly creeping its way to me

@gwrmie i know this must be really tough, but i hope you can find the strength to stop being fazed by their comments! it's easier said than done, but i believe you can do it if you really try! please do NOT try toxic dieting because it can cause serious health problems! it is okay to want to lose weight, but always be healthy while doing so. and i really hope you surround yourself with better people, because they're not your friends if they pick on you. also, do not forget that your opinion matters the most. prioritize yourself and put yourself first! you should do whatever you feel the most confident with! i hope u feel better soon <3

@gwrmie NEVER. EVER. go for those toxic dieting like ever. I know what I'm saying is pretty basic, but believe I had this same concern that was inflicted by my friends but opposite. I was skinny. Like tooo skinny enough that they made jokes and always measured my wrist , piched my waist and shoulder and called me stuff that no one likes to hear and I was 5ft at that time.

So many boys from my class always joked ' if a wind pass, she'll be swept away' Or ' hold onto her before she could flew away' such things to my face and so much worse behind my back. But I didn't call out or defend myself at that time cause that 'friends' were all I had, and I would be pushed alone to a corner. So I didn't.

So after highschool I started a healthy diet and became so much better but, I always hated that I didn't defend my younger self as I should while criticised her instead just like those 'friends'.

Dieting and everything is okay only to a line which you should never cross it. Dieting should make you healthier and toxic dieting is everything but healthy. So I would never encourage you to take that path, and what you need is comfortable in your own body. DO NOT hear those 'friends' words and accept yourself first.

-And you should surround yourself with better people before it's too late babe :(

@gwrmie first, i am so sorry that's happening to you. that isn't something anyone should go through. i myself is also not even five feet and pretty chubby/curvy and my own mom jokes about it and makes me feel horrible, but i don't really care. as long as you love your body, and you feel like yourself in it, then that's all that matters. if you want to diet because you want to do it for yourself, then do it. but if you're only doing it because others said so, don't. people will always judge. always. if someone lost weight, they'll go "why aren't you eating enough" but if they gain weight, they'll go "why are you eating so much?" in this society, we can never please others. just focus on yourself and your happiness. whatever you do, whether you don't diet or do, as long as you do it for yourself, because you want to. not for others
