Haley Combs was born June 17th, 2000. In the early years of her childhood Haley lived in Flint, Michigan. Around the age of five Haley received some big news, she was going to be a big sister. She wanted a little sister so bad that she told the nurse to put the baby back if it was a boy. January 3rd, 2005, Amanda was born.
	After the birth of her sister things began to change. Haley's parents decided the best thing to do for their family was to move. She no longer lived in a neighborhood with kids everywhere, she lived in the country with corn fields as far as the eye could see. This impacted her as a writer because she could write about making new friends or visiting old ones. 
Growing up Haley had several dogs. One dog in particular impacted her life when he died during her junior year in high school. His name was Ridley and he'd been with her since the very beginning. He was 17 years old when he passed. Ridleys death devastated Haley, the sadness that dwelled inside her impacted her writings significantly. It took her awhile to move on, she's never forgotten him, but she's found peace with it.
When Haley was younger she was more interested in mysteries. As she grew older she became fascinated with murder mysteries. She would always know who the killer was before the end of the book she'd predict the endings and complain about how they were too predictable. She was mesmerized by authors like Carolyn Keene, Stephen king, and J.B. Fletcher. 
She eventually wrote her own murder mystery and allowed only members of her family to read it. The book was never published or read outside of her household because she didn't have any self confidence. A couple of months later Haley authored another book about the hardships of friendship.
I believe that Haley's author's voice is quirky and eccentric but she also gets the audience thinking. She can incorporate humor into a story but at times she can also have a very serious tone. Sometimes it's not all rainbows and butterflies.
