it was during one of their arguments, that were rare but hard hitting nonetheless. layla knew he’d brought a girl over, she’d saw her, and she was gorgeous. she clearly wasn’t there to “check on the animals” like he’d said. she’d been in their room until she told him she knew what he did, and then she stormed out and took her skin products with her because she didn’t want to go without them. they sat on a table by the sofa layla was curled up on with corky. she remembered a few moments ago she’d yelled at him to leave her alone and go home with the other girl since he liked her so much. she snuggled with corky and sniffled, stroking the snow white fur. she always slept on the sofa when these things happened. that or she made him sleep on the sofa instead. she tried to ignore how angry and upset she was.

lay smiled at him before she cuddled closer to him, her head laid in his chest. corky meowed before sprawling across george’s lap, amusing layla. she played with george’s hair. “ok.” she whispered softly and bit her lip for a second. “you think the horses are ok? can we check on them?” she was always scared for them during storms.

george smiled at the cat and pet him a bit . he turned to her then spoke , " i’m going to have it done . we’ll go on a trip or something while they work on it . " he gave her a loving smile then held her a bit closer , he played with her hair gently then spoke , " it’s ok love , i promise i won’t let the storm hurt you . " he didn’t want her to worry or be scared so he continued to try and comfort her in every way he could think of , he played with her hair and told her soothing things to try and keep her calm .
