Hey there— I’ve got some tips for you.
I’d encourage you to write a few more chapters before posting your book and starting to promote it. You have a lot of competition on this app— millions of books are on the app and millions more are added every day.
But when you get going, you said you’re publishing 1 or 2 chapters a week after releasing a few chapters. I’d recommend spacing them out after posting (for example three to five) chapters. If you’re able to do two chapters a week, maybe try doing one on one day and then the second on another day.
If you have to miss an update, please let your readers know— trust me, they won’t be happy if you suddenly disappear. A lot of writers have done that and it has caused frustration.
If you’re consistently active on social media— Instagram, TikTok or even Facebook, you can use those to promote your book with character images, your cover, pictures of scenes related to your book, and so on.
I’d highly recommend it!!
A lot of TikTok creators often do Booktoks with trailer clips, cover reveals, character images, etc. I have a really good friend who’s done a few.
I don’t recommend R4R because it’s transactional and it’s not a good long term strategy— it’s not considered genuine reads. If you want genuine readers, I’d recommend making friends with people. There are many writers on here in communities, you just have to find them.
