The number cards (ranked 2-10) are basically the players being represented by a number and suit. While their assignments numbers do have meanings when it comes to the games (reveals as they call it), one isn't meant to assume a 10 is automatically better than 2.

The face cards (Queen, King, Jack) are the authority holders of Fortuna: the king being the highest authority, the queen being the philosophy, and the jack being the executioner.

If it wasn't obvious already....she's half woman half peacock and yes she does shed her feathers absolutely everywhere. perhaps it's a sign to say that she's been where her feathers lie?

TLDR: Lady Fortuna is a survivor of the first round of games being declared the winner that later allowed her to be appointed to represent the hearts card by the previous face cards. She now has the responsibilities of creating the games of the heart suite, seeking those who believe they have a place in her deck of hearts to play her games. Quite the insane yet merciful individual due to her constant suffering of broken heart syndrome...not exactly trustworthy but more trustworthy than the others (spoiler alert: she does end up dying ^__^)

Lady Fortuna / Peacock Woman (孔雀女士): Before she became a title whispered throughout the House, she was once nothing more than another player who received a card. No record exists of her first game. No surviving document explains how she endured the trials of the Hearts suit. The House keeps many secrets, and her existence was just another. The Hearts suit was never about love; believing to represent kindness, affection, and connection. It represented everything that remained after those things were tested: Attachment, loss, regret, and the unbearable weight of caring. She understood that better than anyone, being proof that a heart could break and continue beating. Some call her a savior, others call her a liar. Some say she offers mercy, others say her mercy is the cruelest game of all. But every person who encountered Lady Fortuna agreed on one thing: she never dealt a card she did not believe someone could survive, whether they wanted to or not.

¹ ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴏᴜꜱᴇ: The term "House" does not refer to a singular physical structure. Fortuna appears differently to each individual, often reflecting locations connected to personal memories, desires, fears, or regrets. However, the abandoned city remains the most commonly reported environment among recorded players.
² ꜰᴏʀᴛᴜɴᴀ: The origin of the name remains unknown. Some scholars believe it was derived from the concept of fortune — luck, fate, and probability. Others argue the name was chosen ironically, as Fortuna does not provide luck. It only reveals the outcome of choices already made.
³ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄᴀʀᴅ ᴀꜱꜱɪɢɴᴍᴇɴᴛ: Cards are not assigned according to skill, personality, morality, or previous experience. They appear to represent an unresolved aspect of the player's existence. A compassionate person may receive a Hearts card. A fearful person may receive a Spades card. A genius may receive a Diamonds card. It challenges the player.
⁴ "ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴏᴜꜱᴇ ᴀʟᴡᴀʏꜱ ᴡɪɴꜱ:" A phrase repeated throughout Fortuna's history. Its meaning remains debated. Some believe it means Fortuna itself cannot be defeated. Others believe it means every game eventually reveals the truth.

The rules of Fortuna were simple. Four suits. Four paths. Four ways a person could be broken.
Spades tested the body——survival, endurance, and instinct.
Diamonds tested the mind——logic, deception, and perception.
Clubs tested connection——trust, loyalty, and cooperation.
Hearts tested the soul——love, guilt, identity, and everything a person believes makes them human.
And among them all, there was one suit that players feared above the rest. Hearts. Because a person could survive losing their strength. They could survive losing their intelligence. They could even survive losing the people beside them. But losing themselves? That was something else entirely.
Reveals were what the house called the games for Fortuna did not create monsters. It simply placed people in situations where their masks became impossible to wear. Every choice was a confession. Every decision was a reflection. Every game revealed something that had always been hidden.
