Hi, your books are really good. My dream is to be a writer, but I can't seem to write books that people like to read. I'd love some ideas.
Hi! Thank you. I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed my books.
As for advice, I can share some of what I’ve been told/learned. If your main goal is to attract readers then you really need to know what they look for in the genre you’re writing.
Read your favorite authors in that genre. What makes them your favorite? What makes them popular? What trends do you see and how can you take that and make it your own?
What are the tropes that people look for in that genre? Like in romance people love enemies to lovers. It feels cliche to write tropes but there’s a reason they become popular. Once you have that then you have a very high level idea and can start to fill in your ideas. But remember the most important thing is that if you don’t like writing it, they’re probably not going to read it.
