            she pursed her lips gently , head tilting slightly as she listened to what he had to say . hesitating , she gave a gentle nod , it was slowly becoming clear to her that she had perhaps misinterpreted the intentions behind the conversation “ i see “ she responded , flashing him a smile “ i didn’t mean to be so up in arms about it “ shoulders slumped as she allowed herself to relax , finding comfort in his hand on hers , she wasn’t being attacked , it was a simple discussion . “ i…i appreciate that you brought it up , i’ll try my best to remember “ 

“ nowhere… nowhere i’m just— i want you to know that i’m here even if we don’t agree… it’s actually good if we don’t sometimes. ”  he swallows, trying not to hurt her feelings but he realized that maybe he shouldn’t have said anything to begin with. his lips press into a thin line, reaching out to take her hand, his thumb stroking against her knuckles gently.

            a frown appeared in response to his gentle laughter “ i know that . “ she muttered softly and shook her head , arms crossing over her chest as she watched him , as if she was trying to understand where this was coming from. it wasn’t natural for her to protest or argue things but that didn’t mean that she only ever agreed with him because she thought she had to .  “ of course i know that . i may be out of touch but that does not mean that i don’t have opinions of my own . i hope you know that . “ she huffed , shaking her head at him “ you just- where is this coming from ? “

            his words were met with a wide smile “ tease you ? “ she asked , tilting her head slightly as a laugh fell past her lips “ jack, darling whatever do you mean ? “ she asked , slender fingers making their way up to run through her dark curls , the smile dropping as she did so “ i would never tease …but tell me , what is it you want ? “ she asked , leaning down slightly “ i would hate for you to be put in a situation thats so unbearable”

            amaliel shifted slightly in her seat , pulling away from him slightly where they were sat in order to meet his gaze . “ you want to know about heaven ? “ she asked furrowing her brows , she seemed hesitant but not completely uncomfortable. “ there’s not much to say . for us its nothing special , its like how people down here have corporate jobs i suppose , it was like working in an office for the most part . “ she explained gently “ at least where i was for most of my time up there . and at the time , i liked that , the structure and organisation, the control of it all . i thought i did at least , i dont think i had the capacity for that yet” shifting again, she leant back down , resting her head against his shoulder “ its not as exciting for angels as it is for the humans . maybe exciting isnt the right word … i dont know . i wasn’t all that much of a soldier, hadn’t been one for millennia  until all of raphael’s business started and even then that wasn’t for long . “

            “ already ? “ she asked , a slight look of disappointment on her face at the realisation “ well i can’t have that at all . “ she muttered to herself , shaking her head slightly “ please darling . i can’t go without it , not when your own looks so perfect on you . “ she muttered “ please …”

            “ i wouldn’t know “ amaliel let out a gentle hum as she made eye contact with the other , her hands clasped gently in front of her as she watched in curiosity “ i do not sleep , which if i’m not mistaken is the one requirement for dreaming , lucid or otherwise “ a hum escaped her as she tore her gaze away , reaching forward to pick up a book “ why is it that you ask ? “

            “ oh ? “ an interested smile appeared on amaliel’s face as she looked at the other , shifting her gaze between him and her own body , a soft hum escaping her “ well i would have to agree “ she chuckled softly “ if you want it there darling , you should put it there . i would love to wear your name “

            she nodded , smiling to herself “ well thank you “ she murmured , letting herself breathe in this brief moment of silence with him . she smiled softly when she felt the cool metal touching her throat, reaching back behind her to lift her curls out of the way , letting them drop only when felt his hands on her shoulders and his lips against her cheek . slowly , she opened her eyes , looking down at it “ oh darling…its beautiful “ she whispered , looking up to then listen to his explanation . she felt tears spring to her eyes , a smile on her face bigger than ever as she reached to lift the pendant slightly “ that is the most beautiful thing anyone has ever done for me . thank you “ she whispered , going to hug him tightly 

“ i wanted to.” he walks up from behind her, necklace in hand with a smile as he clasps it around her neck. his hands gently press against her shoulders, kissing her cheek. it looked like a regular chain with a stone but it was so much more than that, he walks around, now in front of her with a small smile. “ i made this stone that looks and moves just like your grace if you swirl it around. i just— i wanted to remind you that no matter what, you’re always gonna be an angel to me.”

" she spoke ,doing what was asked of her and closing her eyes , a soft smile on her face as anticipation washed over her , she couldn't help but wonder what it was , she didn't remember asking for anything but it was so sweet that he would get her something anyway .
