/ of course now that she's left heaven and stays permanently on earth , she has other motivations , a new purpose . she's learning to hunt , the human way . its all well and good to show up and get the job done but she's learning slowly after making several mistakes that doing things her way , is not always the most effective avenue to take. she is learning , regardless of the omniscience that angels possess , she's slowly gaining a new perspective on things and an understanding of the world she didn't have before . and years from now that will be something she tells the people she knows, is one of the greatest gifts the universe could ever give her. she's not there yet , but she will be .

            for a brief moment her eyes widened , softening again almost immediately , touched by the the confession from him. " perhaps i'll have to find myself an equivalent...let you hear me plead for you. let everyone hear " his words lit a fire in her chest,  her lips curling into a smirk , if that was the game he wanted to play , she was more than happy to join him in it. despite the excitement she felt , how genuine he was being was not lost on her, not in this moment , her hand lifted to rest on top of his own , squeezing as his thumb moved across her skin. " there's very little i value in this world . of course i'm protective . " she muttered , voice dropping low in a moment of sincerity . " theres nothing to repay , jack .  " she confessed " besides , i do not like to share. " 

“ i’d like to, but i also do it for you.” the demon smiles partly sly, partly genuine as his eyes search hers. “ sometimes i think about whether or not who can see me on my knees, (…) calling your name. ” he draws on each word dramatically as if awaiting a reaction. he reaches over slightly, his hand on her leg, thumb stroking gently against his skin. “ you’re so protective over me. how could i ever repay you? ”

            amaliel tilted her head " does it work ? " she repeated , a contemplative hum falling past her lips. " it does yes. " she confirmed with a brief nod " though i thought you were trying to avoid all that. most times i tell you to do it , you've told me its a risk you would rather not take. " she continued , shifting in her seat " understandable of course. i am sure the others would not take to it well. and they are not allowed to touch you. i have made that clear to them many a time. "

            " nothing . "  the woman muttered , glancing up at the stranger . her face was expressionless , hands folded neatly in front of her . " i am not here for any of that . and do not call me sweetheart . "

            the dim room lit up with the bristling white-blue glow of her eyes as she turned to glance over her shoulder , a smile on her face . though it held no kindness in this moment despite her expression faltering briefly into something slightly fonder as her gaze settled upon him. " are you sure ? " she asked, tilting her head as she allowed him her full attention, pale hand reaching to swipe across her own cheek, wiping it clean. " what i feel for that is vastly different from what i feel towards you. as much as i am inclined to give in to your every desire, even i would not submit you to such a thing. "

            she shook her head slightly as if to dismiss his apology. she had only be caught off guard after all . " i suppose so ... i don't know how similar it is though . " she responded , shifting her gaze to his hand in hers , smiling briefly . " i don't think there were bad times and good times...i didn't know how to differentiate which was which . " she spoke truthfully , stepping towards him once more , squeezing his hand in her own . " i don't know when it was i truly opened my eyes to it all but i don't think i could go back to being that again. " 

“ i was only curious, i’m sorry. ” he pauses, realizing it was ridiculous to ask such a thing. she’d talked about how much she was growing to like earth and how boring heaven was in comparison. he reaches out, taking her hand. “ sometimes i think about my coven and how it wasn’t always bad (…) ” he swallows, shaking his head. ‘sometimes’ was doing a lot of heavy lifting there, he could recall about ten times in over three centuries that he’d recalled fondly about that place, “ i didn’t know if you had moments like that about heaven. ”

            she paused , a look that could only be described as a mix of shock and confusion painting her usually expressionless features. she cleared her throat slightly , tilting her head as she contemplated the question . " to heaven ? " she clarified , the corners of her mouth twitching as her lips contorted into a frown " no. never . " she responded , gently pulling away to stand up , shaking her head as she ran a hand through her hair " there is nothing they could do or say that could tempt me back there . " she muttered " why would you- " she paused and took a breath , it felt alien and unnatural to her " why would you ask me that ? "

            shock was not what could be described as the expression on amaliel's face in this moment . a far closer emotion would be a deep seated offense , a sense of disrespect washing over her as she stared . subtle but clear nonetheless . an eyebrow raised as she straightened her back , arms crossing over her chest " i think it would be wise if in the future you think about who you're talking to before you decide to open your mouth . "

            amaliel frowned briefly , tilting her head at his amusement , though it didn't truly bother her . she sighed softly, not of irritation or impatience , simply an expression of calm and peace in this moment as his lips brushed against her hand. " is this another one of those moments where i'm missing something ? " she asked , tilting her head " certainly not , but poison is not how i would go about it . you know that , darling . " she confirmed , unable to fight her smile any longer as she offered a squeeze to both of his hands " maybe i do " she responded , pulling him in close , her gaze shifting in an attempt to hide the smile that threatened only to grow wider " maybe i'm forgetting... you might have to show me darling " she whispered with a teasing smile

jack smiles small, her literalness of the term making him laugh softly. he shakes his head, taking her hand and kissing it softly. while it was true, he couldn’t commit to saying the rest of the movie quote so instead he ooh nods. “ i dunno, you’re certainly not about murder, angel. ” his head tilts, clicking his tongue in faux suspicion. “ but i’m sure you know the tradition of what to do when you find someone underneath one? ”

            her hands were quick to lift , cupping his cheeks and as much as she willed herself to keep them there , she found herself unable to resist slipping them around his neck , one moving up into his hair. a deep sigh of peace washed over her as she lost herself in his lips . she smiled as they broke apart , almost breathless as she listened to him speak . " you have ? " she murmured , laughing gently as his fingers trailed down her thighs , breath hitching as they moved . " is that right ? well if its only fair . i could never say no , you're far too tempting " she murmured , shifting to press a kiss to his jaw " i think its perfect... a wonderful reminder of you . not that i could ever forgeg " 

jack smiles down at her, when she meets his eyes, his teeth bite down on his lip gently before she kisses him. he stays there, stealing another kiss, and another, the taste of her lips nearly distracting him. he hums softly in content. “ good, because i’ve been thinking— my name is shorter than yours so i think… i should get to mark, ” his pointer fingers from both hands graze down her thighs, stopping above the knee. “ here and here. i think that’s only fair. ”

            the angel smiled , lifting her head up slightly from where it rested against his shoulder . a quiet hum of agreement escaped her lips as she sat fully up , her smile shifting into something more , something passionate and desperate. a fire burning deep in the blue of her eyes " is this your way of offering ? " she asked , pressing a kiss to his lips " i miss that feeling ...deeply . "
