His moves reassemble those of a cat , careful and aware of wherever he steps , who walks past them , in alert for anything that could be considered   ' out of place '  yet his voice was the opposite , calm and soft.

good .      [  good, because viktor isn’t sure where they’d go from here if *this* was not okay.  good, because he’s tired of asking, of *waiting.*  good, because now that he’s close enough to see the adoration written across jayce’s features, he doesn’t know that he can go without it ever again.  he arches up for another kiss, soft and slow.  the looseness in his own limbs surprises him as he settles back, a welcome effect of the contentedness he’d never expected to feel — certainly not while wearing a  hospital gown.  but jayce is as steady and golden as ever, and that brings him the most comfort of all.  he hums.  ]      i have never seen you blush so profusely .   it’s endearing .

                              [his eyes trail over to viktor.  a slight wave of acknowledgement,  but also the fact that his cheeks peel over a shade of crimson.  squeezing his gaze shut for a moment,  he breathes in slightly.  to show that he was unwavering,  smiling again once his eyes open.]    what is there to regret?  if you could ask that since the first night of meeting me.    [jayce wasn't naive,  by any means.  although he was rather stupid back then..  however,]    work will always come first,  but i don’t      ..i don't have any issue with   /this/.

jayce .   i spoke about bringing you to my bedroom the very first night we met .      [  his expression is deadpan, though fond amusement sparks in his eyes.  his free hand slides down the other’s chest, then stops to rest solidly over his heart.  silence stretches for a moment.  when viktor speaks again, his words are small.  ]        i do not want you to have any regret .   nothing needs to change .   especially if you do not want it to .   our work is still of the utmost importance ;  we do not need to be . . .  distracted .      [  he does not voice the dread that threatens to pool in his veins; the FINALITY.  now that it is certain he is dying, he’s done wasting time.  ]

if the lab gains a better sofa ,  then nap is ALL you will do .   the current one is fine ,  is it not ?      [  despite his words, viktor is not opposed to the idea — especially if it meant that jayce would spend more time in the lab.  but a sofa cannot negate his responsibilities as a councilor.  viktor is proud of him, truly; it’s so clear that jayce is doing what he’s *meant* to, whether in front of a crowd or over haphazardly scrawled notes.  his skill set is extensive and varied, and viktor is admittedly envious — both of his capabilities and the others he shares the experiences with.  it’s no fault of jayce’s own, he knows that, but he would be lying if he claimed he hadn’t been trying to conceive ways to keep his partner in the lab.  for the benefit of their research, of course.
            
            he sets the sphere down exactly as he’d found it, moving to look at a photograph next.  it’s of jayce and his mother.  viktor has not met the woman; other than when she spoke for jayce at his trial, their paths have never crossed.  it’s fascinating, though, the physical similarities that they share.  viktor glances back to where jayce stands behind him, and now that he’s seen it in the photograph, he’s unable to *not* see it — the slope of his nose, the curve of his brows, the unyielding softness behind his smile.  it’s terribly endearing, so much so that viktor almost feels sick.  ]      this is your mother ,  yes ?   — you have not spoken of her for quite some time .   tell me about her .

@heraldedtech,      [     there was no reason or justified answer as to why jayce had did this.  he felt that it was mostly to prove a point,  a part of his ego.  however,  it was most certainly more embarrassing now when the other is now in his quarters.  he didn't necessarily know where to go from here,  and as his eyes shift he feels his shoulders relax when viktor is the one who speaks first.  imagining just how much worse it would have been if the awkward silence had continued,  jayce attempting to be more nonchalant by gently rubbing the soft stubble from his chin.  fresh from shaving early this morning,    ]    
            
            only when i can.  it's more like a second home,  i think i sleep in the lab more than i sleep in my own bed.  i mean,  maybe we should install a better couch in the lab,  so one of us can take a nap while the other works.    [    a pause,    ]    well,  that actually sounds like a good idea.

[  perhaps it’s silly, to let jayce lead him across piltover with the sole intent of proving a point — but viktor would follow him anywhere, especially when he’s as confident and proud as this.  he gives an appreciative hum ad jayce opens the door for him, and when he stands in the middle of the room, he can’t help but feel a bit out of place.  the room is so blatantly *jayce*, and yes, viktor is admittedly surprised by how tidy his partner keeps the space.  ]
            
            it would appear that i stand corrected .   i am impressed .      [  he flashes jayce a warm smile.  he’s never been so unconcerned with being *wrong,* but it’s just another addition to the list of all the ways jayce has surprised him.  viktor slowly makes his way around the room, stopping to examine every image and diagram plastered to the walls.  he considers the other outfits laid out on the bed and comes to the conclusion that jayce made the right selection, though he’s absolutely certain that jayce would look good in anything.  when he reaches jayce’s desk, he pauses again, picking up a small sphere and rolling it over his palm.  he turns back to face the other man, head tilted coyly.  ]      i hadn’t taken you to be so orderly ,  but i should have .   do you not spend a lot of time here ?
