Muscles and joints exhausted, the current carried him within the net, Gil’s a bit dry, grains of sand within the edges of them, as well as scattered along his skin, within his strands of purple hair eyelids very softly twitching, yet staying closed. His hair messily scattered around, either splayed across his skin or on the beach below him, after a few minutes he found himself waking up, a soft grunt making it out of his vocal cords, suddenly realizing how hot the space he was felt, laid upon the sand which the sun had been shining down on, occasionally, feeling the cool tide come up to wet his scales and skin, allowing temporary relief. He shifted from within the net, attempting to untangle himself one of his hands moving to his bag to try to look within it for something else sharp, having dropped the jagged rock earlier. She’d been searching the area for nearly an hour after receiving reports of demonic activity nearby , but so far , she’d found nothing. Alpha , her personal A.I. , had been acting strangely these past few days , repeatedly directing her to false locations. She knew it wasn’t really Alpha’s fault , though. Aniela had been working on repairing the system since yesterday , so hopefully it would be back to normal soon. Even if this report turned out to be another false alarm , Ivana refused to ignore it. If there was even the slightest chance someone needed help , she was going to answer. As she walked along the shoreline , something caught her eye. At first , it was the shimmering purple scales — unlike any fish she’d ever seen. Then again , she wasn’t exactly a marine biologist. Curiosity got the better of her , and she quickened her pace. The closer she came , the clearer the figure became , until the unmistakably human upper body came into view. She slowed to a stop , surprise flickering across her face beneath her helmet. A merfolk . . . a creature she’d only ever heard about in stories. The only beings beyond human understanding she’d encountered before were demons. Kneeling beside the stranded stranger , she gently set her Maykr-forged Ballista in the sand and glanced at the tangled net restraining them. Her voice remained calm and steady as she spoke. “ Do you need a hand ? ” Her voice crackles through the radio of the helmet.

/ i think i like this new portrayal of her more than the old one, where she was a lot cockier and would throw quips here and there. her being more serious just feels like it fits. though once she’s comfortable around someone, she’ll start talking in skater slang—an old habit she’s never grown out of since her teen years.. oop..
i want her to feel more human than her father while still being emotionally detached like he is.. one thing she definitely inherited, though, is his anger. whatever you do.. don’t let her touch a berserk orb— :wilted_rose:
