So today little mix had released the new music video of their single "Touch" and as I was listening to the song I was scrolling through the comments and the number of hate comments shocked me, honestly. There were an umpteen number of comments that bashed on how risqué the video was, how Jesy was overweight, how their clothes were too revealing etc, and as I read them, I felt injustice, even a little anger. Why is it that when artistes release videos which do not involve sexily dressed people in it, viewers complain and say that it's too conservative, yet when they just show some skin, they also complain and say it's too revealing? It's really contradictory and it seems as though they'll never be satisfied. But the main point I felt was that even though many of the fans might have grown up seeing Little Mix as cute, rather innocent girls, what's wrong with them making a change and showing a bit more skin that usual? I mean, they've grown up and become adults, and honestly what they want to wear, every personal decision of theirs is not up to us, it's up to them. Also, as fans of them, I feel that what's most important is that we love them as people and we love their music, and we shouldn't fret or grumble so much over such things that only matter at a personal level to them. Perhaps the fans or whomever had remarked that they were dressed in too risqué a way were just not used to them being dressed like this (??) which I can actually understand, but growing up is an inevitable thing and everyone will grow up, even I will. I have changed a lot since I was a little girl and even though the people around me might not have liked how I'd changed, there's also nothing I can do about it - change is the only constant after all. That's why I feel that the viewers shouldn't bash on them so much for changing their style and stuff, it's all up to their personal taste and preference and as fans we should be supporting them and respecting their decisions.
