That would be really stupid of you. * As the flames shot her way once again, Alyssa backed up until it was too late and she was falling off the edge of the roof. She hoped Avery would leave her be at this point as she shot out a rope from the weapons on her wrist which allowed her to smash into a window of the building and land safely inside. *

            nope.   not happening.   * avery wasn’t playing into the bait.   she knew hand to hand with someone of alyssa’s skill would put her at a disadvantage.  alyssa knew that too.   she then sent another blast of fire at her. *   you’re the one who chose to play with fire.  suffer the consequences.

            *  avery glanced at the food once more before instead retreating to the couch.   her nerves were too alight for her to have much of an appetite.  maybe leaving would have been wiser. *    so that’s it,  huh ?   you’re just gonna  ..  stay dead in the public eye ?

            *  avery was rushing deeper into the apartment,  until finally,  lucky paused with a whine.   she shook her head towards him. *   lucky,  / no / ,  i have to  ..   kate !   kate,  please,  say something !    * lucky whined louder,  taking a step back.   if she didn’t leave soon,  the apartment would collapse on them. *
            
            /    avery would never hit her though,  she’d probably just leave and let kate and claire go  :’)

            it took everything in kate not to pipe up  .  to tell them that she was okay and that it wasn’t real  ..  but she couldn’t  .  all kate could do was squeeze her eyes shut and pray the other would get out  .  *

            kate ?!   kate !!   kate,  can you hear me ?    * avery,  of course,  burst into the apartment,  pausing to avoid crumbling brick.   lucky was barking,  but he too was hesitant.   it was unstable.   avery’s heart was pounding.   she could still save her,  she  HAD  to save her. *

            *  avery was very aware they were still in a shield building,  but there was something oddly satisfying about making out with her worst enemy in such a space.   she only drew back to mumble a few hasty commands under her breath. *   everything  …  off  ..  right now.
