──────  QUICK NOTE.  (thread will likely continue after.)
                  most of this is subject to change,  as on my rewatch,  i have only made it to season two.  i am all right with spoilers,  because i’ve unfortunately already gotten spoiled on lots of things.
                  in lengthier responses,  my writing will likely make no sense in the sense that i’m not sure if it’ll be envisioned properly.  this is due to the fact that when i write,  i cannot actually picture what i’m writing.  (aphantasia gang.)  please,  do not judge me harshly on this,  this is one of my biggest fears.
                  the ‘selective replies’ on my profile is simply when there are days like these last few that i cannot do super lengthy  (but this thread would tell you different).  that’s what that means—-  i am not selective on who interacts with me at all!!

──────  RELATIONSHIPS.
                  her mother, stephanie miller:  steph and jesse have a close relationship.  steph is a safe space for jesse,  as well as everyone else.  steph provides jesse with everything she never had,  making a better life for jesse than she had.  jesse doesn’t know her mother’s past,  because she knows that it was very crappy,  and does everything she can for her mother to make sure that she’s not stressed out.
                  her father, jeremy miller:  jeremy and jesse don’t have a healthy relationship.  jeremy was an alcoholic,  a very mean one at that,  and used to hurt jesse.  when steph and jeremy divorced,  jeremy got 50/50 custody,  meaning that jesse has to go to his new house every other weekend and for the entire summer.  she hates this,  but at least she’s still in hawkins.
                  her crush, steve harrington:  jesse has known steve since elementary school,  and has had a crush on him since late middle school.  while they really haven’t talked since the eighth grade,  jesse still finds herself wanting to talk to him.  she’s hoping that maybe one day,  they’ll talk and maybe even be something more.
                  her best friend, camila jiménez:  camila is jesse’s best friend,  has been since the sixth grade when camila first moved to hawkins.  their relationship trope is very much so opposites attract,  and jesse loves it.  camila speaks when jesse can’t,  and jesse soothes camila’s mind when it gets to be too much.  they’re each other’s platonic other half,  and that’s the way they like it.
                  her rival, nancy wheeler:  as a borderline genius,  nancy wheeler is her biggest academic rival.  as a girl who has had a crush on steve harrington for years,  nancy wheeler is the girl she’s most jealous of.  she can’t compare to nancy wheeler in any regard,  at least in her mind.  she hasn’t told anybody about this insecurity of hers,  not even camila or her mom. 

──────  PERSONALITY.
                  at first glance,  jesse is shy and almost mute.  she doesn’t speak unless spoken to,  she always has her nose shoved in a book,  and she’s just content being on the sidelines.  as her mother likes to say,  first impressions are important—-  and everyone’s first impression of her is that she’s BORING.
                  but if you get to know the girl beneath the hiding,  she is a completely different girl.  she’s confident in who she is,  stubborn when she sets her mind to something,  and willing to do anything to see her loved ones smile.  she’s nerdy,  literally never shuts up when someone asks her about her special interests,  and even spits out the fun facts that she knows.  she is comfortable in her own skin,  and comfortable being SEEN.
