Character bashing. I fucking hate it so fucking much. They always exaggerate a character's worst traits and downplay all of their good traits all for the sake of shitting on them and even to the point of beating them or nearly killing them because they said something mean or rude. It is such a awful and trash fanfic trope and another reason I hate it is that the fic will always and I mean ALWAYS ignore any character development the character has ever had just to shit on them. If you want to write a fanfic please. Do not do this.
