Born in Kitakyushu in 1963 and graduated from Kanagawa University in 1985. I began my editorial career at Sankei Marketing, a think-tank enterprise under the major Japanese media conglomerate Sankei Shimbun. For eight years, I served as the editor for "New Developed Food Information," a highly specialized membership magazine tailored for top food industry marketers.
In 1992, I established my independence to work as a freelance writer and editor. From 1993 to 1997, I relocated my base to the United States to work as a sports writer. During this golden era of sports, I became the first Asian journalist to secure an exclusive, one-on-one interview with Tiger Woods. My U.S. tenure also included high-profile interviews with legendary top athletes such as Oscar De La Hoya and Alex Rodriguez, with my features widely published across prominent Japanese magazines.
In parallel with these endeavors, I authored The VAN Jacket Museum, a book that has since achieved legendary status among fashionistas. Driven by the success of this publication, I served as the deputy editor-in-chief for Free&Easy magazine and HailMary Magazine from 1998 until April 2026. In May 2026, I launched the website FRAMES short stories & illustrated, where I have begun in earnest to publish the collection of short stories I have passionately penned since my youth.
