Kendall’s POV:
My alarm clock started blaring Chasing The Sun by The Wanted at seven thirty in the morning. I groaned as I hit the snooze button and stumbled out of the bed. Rubbing my face with my right hand, I walked into my bathroom and took a quick morning shower and brushed my teeth. After that, I walked out of the bathroom with nothing but my yellow towel wrapped around my wet naked body. Walking over to my closet, I pulled out my uniform. I was a waitress at the Starbucks in town, and it surprisingly paid very well. My uniform just consisted of fitted khaki pants and a green fitted polo top with the Starbucks logo above my left breast.
Once I had my uniform on, I looked at myself in the mirror. Letting out a breath, I took my brush and ran it through my silky red hair and tied it into a French braid. When people think of red hair, they think of the ‘ginger’ or Ron Weasly type of hair. No, mine is the actual blood red color. My original color hair was dark brown, but when I moved here in London, I wanted to try something new. What better way than dying your hair a different color? And actually, a lot of people like my hair color, so it’s all good.
After applying some make up, I was good to go. Grabbing my black iPhone 4s and wallet, I walked out of my bedroom and into the kitchen. My flat was nothing special, it was just an average flat. It had a living room, kitchen, two bedrooms – one is mine and another is a guest room – and even a small balcony. It all felt cosy and safe – just the way that I like it. The landlord is a lady in her late sixties. Her name is Margaret, and she lives by herself. She’s really kind and caring, and she made the rent for my flat affordable for me. She’s like a grandmother to me, to be honest.
