Wow here I am replying two years later lol so sorry I barely check this area. I mostly take canon as a suggestion. The most important thing in my opinion is characters, staying true to their characterization in the show but having fun with it too! I definitely exaggerated Zuko’s dry humor in my story because I love that’s aspect of him
