Today is November 11 and in Canada it is the day where we remember those who fought in World War I and for our country.
On June 28, 1919, the Treaty of Versailles was signed at the Palace of Versailles in the Hall of Mirrors by the Allies and the Central Powers.
This peace document officially marked the end of World War I, which was November 11, 1918 at 11:00 AM; 106 years ago today.
Throughout the beginning of November and until the 11th, we wear a poppy pinned over our heart as a symbol of peace, as the poppy was the flower that grew where the soldiers rest in Flanders Fields.
Please take a moment today and think about the strong and brave soldiers who fought for us and our freedoms.
