To change your profile picture:
Go onto your account.
There is a symbol in the very top right hand corner.
Click on that.
Then click on ‘edit profile’.
After that, click on ‘update photo’
Next, choose a photo from your camera roll or take a picture
Voila.

@Riddikulus_Ravenclaw it let me change the background but the profile pic won't budge, I don't want to acquire the wrath of the dog god so I've decided on a compromise to co-exist, leave it alone until the problem goes away. thanks for the help but its no longer needed I'm starting my new life as a dog worshipper.
