I am such an idiot! I read this AMAZING fan fic or Ateez where they are part of a top secret government program as top level agents and each is a different kind of shifter animal. They save Yunho who then gets tested to be a super rare kind of Shifter as he's much bigger and stronger than the others. In it Chan is a trainer and ultimately ends up telling Yunho the program is not good, but it's killed so many shifters because they don't care and he wants Yunho to leave.

But now I can't find it again and I really, really want to read it a second time

@ iammrsfezziwig thank you for saying this. I wasn't sure whether it was good enough to be uploaded, but your words made me feel like it was worth writing it. I'm glad you and your niece enjoyed it

@miyeonsbitch She loves it. The bit about Minho fainting made her giggle so much she’d randomly remember it and giggle again for a week. I left out the bit about HJ and Felix getting caught purely because I didn’t want to have to explain it to her. The other bit she liked was the twist where Woo & Seungmin have already been dating for almost a year. She gasped dramatically at it and made herself choke on air. It’s a truly simple but beautiful idea and you’ve written it so well, finding that lane between substance that keeps you hooked and a simplicity that keeps the funny parts from falling flat.

My face is fine, thank goodness, it looked worse than it was. My American cousins didn’t understand why being an hour from home in the hospital was such a pain.

@ iammrsfezziwig That sounds serious, I hope that you're ok now. I don't live in the UK but I do live in Europe so yes, I know how tiring it is to be an hour away from home. About my book though...I never could have imagined it would be someone's bedtime story, wow! Your niece sounds like an interesting girl (and I don't mean to be intrusive but did she say if she liked it?)
