Spies on her during his time with Akatsuki until Tsunade figures out who he is spying on and brings her back to the village. And Itachi tried to leave to get to her and had to kill members of the Akatsuki to leave for the village. Gets Tsunade to heal him in exchange for everything he has on the Akatsuki. Every Shinobi knows about his obsession only She doesn't as Itachi wants it that way. Or Anything similar
