l pursed his lips, plopping what was quite possibly his eighth sugar cube into his cup of black coffee. his gaze was fixed on the screen, per usual, the young detective hardly blinking as he scrolled through page after page of various reports of heart attacks within prisons. the number had been growing rapidly, and l was careful to analyze each incident, lest kira decide to leave another regrettable note behind using one of the victims. "matsuda-san," l said, his low voice ringing out sharply in the silence. "i require the opinion of someone without a great deal of expertise on a certain matter. care to assist?"

@HATESLOSINGS Matsuda had just been... standing around and being quite useless, honestly. He hadn't been given any tasks to do that day so he was just kind of /there/. He'd glance at L every now and then and every time he did so, the detective seemed to be doing the exact same thing. Putting more sugar in his cup and staring at the screen. It was like he was reliving the same moment over and over again. But then something changed. L spoke to him and he was at his side in seconds. "Yes, Ryuzaki? What is it?" He asked, sounding rather happy. "I'll give my opinion on whatever you need!"

after further consideration , matsuda , i have to admit that i don't entirely understand your adamance towards staying on this case . nor your insistence of light - kun's innocence . emotional bias , i presume . makes you a tad . . . unreliable , wouldn't you agree ?

It's only wrong when.. * he thought for a moment, trying to think of something /good/ he could say. * When you take it too far and start doing what Kira does. Just because Light wants justice, doesn't mean he's Kira.

Isn't that what /you/ want? Isn't that why you're trying to catch Kira? For justice? * he asked, holding an arm out slightly as he talked. *

a frown formed on the smaller girl's lips as she looked the male up and down "oh gosh, you look cold.. let me give you my scarf!" she exclaims quickly, taking the red fabric off her neck and standing on her tippy toes to wrap it around his neck. "there we go!"

His grin was pretty sheepish and he nodded his head in thanks as he stepped into the building. Upon entering, he gave a sigh. "This is /way/ nicer than being outside."

@deathmodel ⨾⨾ they are,, idc. she also buys him little boxes of chocolate when he's sad,, she cAn't stand to see him upset "awh, it's my pleasure. but please, stop thanking me, matsu! it's no big deal.. you're so cute!" she couldn't help but giggle softly, skipping quickly up to the door and holding it for him.

He hadn't been /too/ cold but Misa was being nice by lending him her scarf so there's no way he'd do anything /but/ wear it. The sudden hug made his dark hues widen slightly and he nodded. "Of course.. I'd love to go inside." He started towards the door with her.
