@idkhereisaname For me, it really helped to know what kind of therapy I was looking for, so I could discuss that with my GP and she could help me find one that could help me with that. Like, I knew that I would likely benefit from schema therapy, so that's what I got.
But it sounds like you already have a new therapist (?) I still think that gathering some insight on what kind of therapy you are looking for can help, but in that case, yeah, if you have a good therapist, they should help you figure out what you need. I think it's important to make sure you feel comfortable with your therapist. If it doesn't 'click', they probably won't be able to help you, even if they are good at their job. It has to be a match.
All of this probably differs greatly around the world, I have no idea how hard it is to get a therapist where you're from or to switch if it's not a match, etc etc. But if you don't know where to start, well: you started therapy for a reason. That reason is a good place to start. Something is affecting your daily life in a way. You can figure out the exact details and how to deal with them together
