When I can't find my voice, words and images find me. So I write. Mainly, I see what I write a bit like my Alice in Michaela Land process. Prose and poems that find me and pull me out of the confusion.

Or I draw. Mostly I've a lifetime working with horses and people , off the beaten track perhaps , then Boom in 2013 a horse slipped and rolled on me and I got a traumatic brain injury. I like to think that waking up from being unconscious was the start of waking up really. It's been really crappy a lot too. Writing and reading can dissolve isolation.

That accident changed everything. Maybe it has sent me down the path I think I was already drawn to and I've seen heaps I want to share. I had no idea it would be so hard and involve so
Much crying! Or how much I'd see. It's all given me a great deal of understanding of other people and of myself.

Recovery became so much more than I could imagine. So I guess a lot of what I write is about letting go and sensing the OK of being, looking for insight in confusion. Or waiting. Looking to an easier way than buying Into totally not feeling good enough or that it's all on us to do life right.

So rather than drown in the guilt and feeling overwhelmed with empathy or inferior thinking; writing, art and exploring creativity kind of saves me. I've come to see the things that we believe or get conditioned to think, of how to live life "right", often just make us feel bad and stomp on our flow.

I hope these pieces resonate with others... . Also, sometimes writing is like a big hug. I hope reading it is too. I hope you also enjoy the artwork.

I want to share the trials and tribulations and gifts of discovering, from life being tipped upside down. Trying to write this description is the hardest part!
