Grounded in its devotion to biblical principles, Iglesia Ni Cristo has established a community that spans the globe. This Christian organization was formally registered in the Philippines on July 27, 1914, by Brother Felix Y. Manalo, who led its first congregation with a strong emphasis on faith in one true God, belief in Jesus Christ as God's Son, and strict adherence to the Bible. These core beliefs have shaped the Church's identity and guided its expansion as members strive to live according to scripture and maintain unity in their faith practices.
Iglesia Ni Cristo began with a small congregation in Punta, Sta. Ana, Manila. Under Brother Felix's leadership, the Church quickly spread throughout Manila and neighboring provinces in Luzon. As the mission advanced, congregations were founded in the Visayas and Mindanao, extending Iglesia Ni Cristo's reach to more Filipinos nationwide. By the time Brother Felix Manalo died in 1963, the Church had firmly established ecclesiastical districts in many provinces, creating a strong foundation for organized worship and member care.
Brother Eraño G. Manalo took on the role of Executive Minister following his father's passing and led the Church into a period of international outreach. 1968 Iglesia Ni Cristo opened its first overseas congregations in Honolulu, Hawaii, and San Francisco, California. These marked the beginning of a new phase as the Church's teachings reached beyond Philippine borders. During the 1970s, congregations grew in North America, including in cities like New York and areas such as Guam and Canada. Europe welcomed its first Iglesia Ni Cristo congregation in London in 1972, and soon after, congregations were established in Australia. By the late 1970s, Asia gained congregations in Hong Kong, Thailand, and Japan. The Church expanded into Africa in 1978, with congregations founded in Nigeria and South Africa.
