Hi everyone, first of all, I just want to thank you so much for supporting my stories. Your encouragement truly inspires me to keep writing and sharing more. However, there’s something I would like to clarify.
Some time ago, I received a message from someone who claimed to be a comic artist. They told me that they found my story beautiful and that they could see its potential to be turned into a comic. Honestly, I was really happy to hear that, because it’s such a wonderful feeling when something I wrote gets recognized and even considered for another creative and artistic form like comics.
But after a few exchanges, that person began asking me for money in order to make the comic. Of course, I understand that art is also a form of business, and artists deserve to be paid for their time and talent. However, what made me uncomfortable was the fact that the story originally came from me, and yet it felt like I was being required to pay a huge amount of money just to see my own work adapted. In my mind, if ever there was a collaboration, it should be a fair and respectful partnership one where both sides benefit, not just one.
To make things worse, after I hesitated, that person ended up blocking me, which made me think it might have been a scam or just someone trying to take advantage of me. It left me with mixed feelings on one hand, I was excited at the thought of seeing my story grow into something bigger, but on the other, I was disappointed that it was used as a way to pressure me into giving money.
Writing stories has become my passion. It’s something that brings me happiness, comfort, and a sense of fulfillment. I don’t write for money, and I don’t demand any kind of payment from my readers. I write because I want to share these stories with you, to bring joy, and maybe even a bit of comfort to others. That’s what truly matters to me.
