Ohh Eshna Sorry for the delay. I actually prepared for this tell you. So let me begin.
One important fact is that I think you completed the chapters in a rush or in a hurry that's why I feel the characters were not properly introduced to us the readers. Although it's totally my personal opinion. And that is why I felt it lacking the smooth chemistry between the characters. Here the introduction means proper and detailed character sketch. Not the introduction of new characters. Although it's as I said my personal opinion.
Next, I think the sequence is a bit twisted which made it a bit awkward according to me. This is my opinion too.
And finally, what I didn't like is the sudden change of scenes. I feel if you have awaited slowed down the progress of the plot and waited for the right pace and time to properly improve the relationships of Arnold and Shirlee it would have been much better.
But it's absolutely my personal opinion.
